Hallmarking

All of my jewellery is sterling silver (unless otherwise stated) and I do stamp all silver under 7.78g with a .925 fineness stamp. †Legally all items over this weight have to be sent off to the Assay office (in my case the Edinburgh Assay Office) for testing and Hallmarking which includes the marks shown below:

As a rule I tend not to send smaller items (i.e. rings without settings) off to be given a Hallnote as it does add a week to the processing and dispatch times. †(it isnít a problem for smaller cast items - i.e. pendants - as I can send these in batches, but the rings are made to order).

All that said though, if you prefer the extra security of a Hallnote and donít mind adding an extra 5 working days to your order (so it will be 10-15 working days to dispatch to you), I am more than happy to have it carried out at no extra cost. †:o) †Just add a wee note int he comments section on checkout that you would like it to be assayed or given a hallmark.
